Soccer Chelsea Div 3 Tournament Rules

1. Dates

July 6 to July 8, 2012

2. General regulations  

The tournament rules are those of FIFA and the FSQF, plus the following specific regulations.

3. Tournament committee

The committee is responsible for the overall organization of the tournament. Either during the preliminary or the final rounds, decisions taken by the tournament committee are final and without appeal.

4. Categories

LRSO Boys Division 3 U10 (7 x 7), U-12 (9 x 9), U-14 (11 x 11)
LRSO Girls Division 3 U10 (7 x 7), U-12 (9 x 9), U-14 (11 x 11)

If less than 4 U14M or U14F teams register, a mixed division will be offered. Rules would be 7v7, with a minimum of 3 girls on the field at al times (including goalie). Team size remains at 20, however there will be no limit on number of females versus males on the team. 

5. Number of players

The maximum number of players who can register and play is:

  • 16 players for U10
  • 18 players for U12
  • 20 players for U14

6. Passport FSQ

  • Players and coaches must present a valid ARSO ID card (passport)
  • At least one coach must possess a coach passport
  • A list of players on the team with passport number must be given to the organizer of the tournament before the team’s first game

7. Additional players

It is possible to supplement your team with players who play in a lower age-level team in Division 3. It is possible to integrate several teams from a club to make a full team or to combine Div 3 players from diferrent clubs.

8. Proceedings

  • Friday and Saturday: Round-robin tournament guaranteeing participation in three (3) games. 
  • Sunday: Semi-finals and finals.

9. Games duration

  • U-10  2 x 25 minutes
  • U-12  2 x 25 minutes
  • U-14  2 x 25 minutes, 2 x 30 semi-finals and finals

10. Standings

 Points are accumulated as follows: 

  • Win 3 points 
  • Tie 1 point
  • Loss 0 point
  • Forfeit  (-1) point (3 points will go to the winning team)

11. Odd number of games

In the event that there would be an odd number of games in a pool / category, a team will play 4 games and the team name will be randomly picked. Once the games have been played and the results are in, one of the 4 games will be picked at random and the score discarded so that all teams have an equal chance of advancing to the finals.

12. Passport verification  

Each team must present itself at the registration tent 15 minutes before the start of each game and each player must show their passport for verification purposes.

13. In case of a tie

In the preliminary round, if there is a tie at the end of a game, there will be no overtime.

In case of tie at the end of the preliminary round, the tiebreaker will be in the following order:

A. Taking into account the points of the games played between the tied teams (not applicable if more than two teams tied);
B. The greatest number of wins;
C. The fewest red cards;
D. The fewest yellow cards;
E. The greatest difference between goals for and goals against;
F. The greatest number of goals for;
G. The fewest goals against;
H. Penalty shots.

This procedure will be used to decide for all the positions. If the tie involves more than two teams, the tiebreaker procedure applies from article B. When only two teams are left, the tiebreaker procedure begins at article A.

If needed, penalty shots will occur before the next game.

In semifinal and final rounds, if there is a tie at the end of regulation time, there will be no overtime, but we will proceed with penalty shots, five shots per team, alternating, followed if necessary by a suicide shot.
