Teams

Soccer Chelsea has identified targeted maximum numbers of players per team. These numbers may be exceeded provided the following criteria are met:

• The Technical Committee supports the decision
• The League maximum limit is not exceeded
• The coach accepts the player on the team
• A team sweater is available

Every effort will be made to ensure that a player registering before the March deadline is placed on a team. Limits on team size or other factors may dictate that players be placed in an older age group in order to ensure adequate numbers per team. The club promotes the philosophy that players play within their own age group. The exceptions are when

• There is no Div 1 (or Div 2) within that age group and the player's skills are significantly superior to the other players in that age group.
• There are too many players for 1 team, but not enough for 2, and younger players may be brought up to create another team

Late Registration: A player who registers late will be placed on a waiting list, and will be assigned to a team, whenever possible, in the order in which they registered. If a player cannot be integrated within a Soccer Chelsea team, all efforts will be made to find a suitable alternate team with another club. All players competing for competitive teams (Div 1 or Div 2) must participate in the team selection and sorting process. Players unable to attend the selection process will normally be placed on a lower division team.
